Aside from the obvious duplicity of the RJC shenanigans, the ad campaign contains a multitude of libelous distortions desperately concocted due to lack of any real subject matter to offer as proof.

It must have been an extremely difficult task for the coalition to invent their spin. They even created one flyer with a blown up photograph of what the Arabs call Qubbat As-Sakhrah, with a less than relevant pro-peace citation from the Thurston County Democratic Party platform equating Israel’s need for secure borders with Palestinian’s right to self determination.

In a desperate ploy to demonstrate an alleged decline in support for Israel they went so far as to drop a line from the outdated 2004 Democratic Party platform of Thurston County, which does not necessarily speak in an Anti-Israel tone, rather a dim theme of support for peace. The citation appears in several of the ads in question.

Thurston County is several towns in the northwestern tip of the continental United States with a population of 220,000. The current platform of the local Democratic Party, adopted on April 8^th 2006, (before the ad campaign began) contains zero statements about Israel or Palestinians whatsoever. The existing platform does indeed include: “Supporting a comprehensive pan Middle-East Peace Process, which protects national sovereignty and self-determination for all parties involved in all conflicts in the region,” a sentiment in synch with the Bush administration’s stalled Road Map for peace.

Republican dishonesty and deception has become commonplace these days, but Jewish deceit in the pursuit of a misguided and tawdry political machination is shameful and embarassing.

A laughably preposterous element is the photograph in the Lieberman emblazoned page. The Jewish Republican group attempts to establish some sort of cosmic connection between voicing and legislating support for Israel in the Senate with Joe Lieberman hugging a random blonde woman in a blue jacket. Perhaps the image was intended to appear as if the senator was hugging an Israeli terror victim or something. The picture was in actuality photographed by Erik S. Lesser for Getty Images while on the presidential campaign trail of Joe Lieberman on January 29^th, 2004 in Greenville, South Carolina depicting the Connecticut Senator embracing one Martha Couch – whose 6 year old son Tyrus was killed by a drunk driver on the eve of Mother's day, one year prior. How the heck cuddling Martha Couch of Greenville, SC correlates to voicing support for Israel is anyone's guess.

It is painfully evident that intentionally deceiving people’s thoughts, by way of ganeivat daat ("deception of the mind") is not a transgression worthy of concern or consideration and certainly not an important core Jewish value of the disrespectful folks at the Republican Jewish Coalition.
